Apple expands Genius support for iPad and iPhone

Shopping for a new iPad or iPhone and need assistance with your new device? Great news, Apple is now offering customers a personalized, online guided tour of both the iPad and iPhone.

Customers who are on the iPad or iPhone pages on Apple’s Online Store can click the “Ask Now” button to start a phone call or online chat with a trained Apple Specialist from which the guided tour can be initiated. They can also click “Have us show you” to go straight to the tour:

“During a guided tour, you’ll watch the Specialist’s screen on your computer as you visit web pages, view apps, and explore other online resources together. So when you have a question, you’ll get to experience the information for yourself — and you’ll have the knowledge to make the right buying decisions.”

If you buy a device with the Apple Specialist you can schedule a free online session to have a specialist help you set it up.

Currently, these guided tours are available to customers in the U.K., Germany, Spain and Brazil. It’s unclear if or when Apple plans to expand the program to additional countries.
