Apple sees “Amazing Demand” for iPad 2

ipad-2

Apple appears to have another hit on their hands with the release of iPad 2 according Apple and analysts with J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank.

Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller revealed today:

“Demand for the next generation iPad 2 has been amazing. We are working hard to get iPad 2 into the hands of every customer who wants one as quickly as possible.”

Two analysts also believe that iPad 2 will be an unequivocal hit, albeit for different reasons.

Deutsche Bank analyst Chris Whitmore wrote in a note to clients:

“We believe the combination of its robust ecosystem, massive App catalog, broad carrier support, industry-leading hardware performance and its price-performance advantage creates an unmatched value for consumers in this segment.”

Alternatively, J.P. Morgan analyst Mark Moskowitz believes:

“There are many competitive tablet entrants expected, but so far, we think that both Samsung and Motorola have experienced disappointing adoption curves.  We expect more of the same from other entrants.  Meanwhile, Apple’s iPad 2 technical and form factor improvements, coupled with opening weekend stock-outs, point to a widening gap in market share ownership potential.”

Regardless of which analyst you place your stock in, or if you prefer to take the statements from Apple as more indicative of iPad 2’s popularity, it’s clear that iPad 2 is a hot item and further strengthens Apple’s control of the tablet market.

Did you purchase an iPad 2 on launch day, order one to be delivered at a later date, or plan on not purchasing one at all?

i don’t mind waiting at all. the first ones sent out act as test models. apple knows there are people who just want to be the first and for collectibles later on in life so they send out products that aren’t as good as they are hyped to be. they let feedback tell them what needs to be adjusted and issues that pop up with first shipments are worked and don’t show up in later versions of same models. and you don’t have to wait in line, or check for delivery guy every 2 minutes on the day it MIGHT show up, to buy an ipad2 on april 11th. i really don’t understand people who get upset they can’t get their hands on an ipad the first week or so when april is just around the corner. go wait in line overnight if it means that much to you otherwise just wait until the maniacs get the first version (never the best) of a product.

I think Apple in September introduce the iPad Pro. Just like the macbook & macbook Pro. The iPad Pro will have increased storage, increased apps, better camera, just like Apple did with the macbook & the macbook pro. What do you think?

Which one did you buy? I order the 64GB wifi only black version.

You could take delivery and likely sell it for a lot more than you paid for it, but yeah, cancel your order.

I’m disappointed in Apple and there seemingly inability to get as many of these out as quickly as possible. They may have a superior product, but their customer sensitivity sucks.

You can jailbreak it. But the Jailbreak software is not out yet for iPad 2. Pray the hackers do their job quickly

The iPad 2 is the first product I have ever stood in line for early. It was fun… I got to an apple store at 11:30 am on the launch day and I was number 11 in line. The whole experience of walking into the store with all 40+ staff members cheering and applauding us was amazing. For future reference, it looked like the store I was at had got around 125-150 iPad 2′s. (TOTAL) So if you divided that up evenly between all the models available it really was not much.

By the time the doors opened, the line was up to about 200 people. And it kept growing.

On a good note, the store employees kept the line outside up to date on how many they had left of each type, so that helped keep many from waiting for nothing.

Yes, download the free software called handbreak and use the output format as AppleTV or iPad or iPhone and then import to iTunes. I did this for about 50 movies. Good luck!

Just purchased an iPad 2 today, March 16. According to Apple, my ship date is listed as April 20 with my delivery date listed as April 23. Unacceptable. I wonder if I can cancel the order.

Truth is that Apple has become a brand where people are gaining experience not only trough their devices but also by wearing the Apple brand. It is remarkable that they have adjusted the production term of developing devices (see as an example the iPad) from 2 years to 1 year. That can be positive but also negative in the way that they compete with their own products, but that is the amazingness of Apple they can do and afford it, since the demand of Apple products are ridiculously sky breaking. I think that Apple just wants to set another mile stone within the market to show their brand power towards their competitors.

I have the first one (now the wifes) and scored the Ipad2 at Best Buy on Saturday, so far I am very pleased

I’m pretty sure the AT&T 3G is unlocked from the start. Verizon too, but the technology prevents one from using a different service…

Ipad 2 sell off hits pockets.

Ok not a story yet but the trouble with the potential for Apple to sell over 40 million of these things is that when the Ipad 3 or whatever they will call it comes to market, thats a lot of second hand Ipad 2′s to be sold on. If apple bring the next gen to market to counter both competition and the missing retina display quickly rather than its 12 month product cycle, anyone selling to trade up will likely loose out big as the retina display will be an Ipad 2 killer perhaps.

I just cant find an answer to this question, it is the only thing holding back from buying one…is there such a thing as an unlocked 3g ipad 2? can i buy one and use a a sim from another counstry and in a nother country if i buy it form the US?

  • Angelofmusic1989

Um… I am an avid iMovie user and in my experience I don’t sync videos with iTunes. I have to import movies onto my device via iPhoto. Then the movies show up in the iMovie app.

Does anybody seriously doubt that Apple announced the Ipad 2 with a wholly inadequate single day’s supply on hand solely to frustrate Motorola’s launch of the Xoom.

  • Georgio55

I ordered mine from the on-line store and it just arrived in Memphis TN according to the tracking info. I love my Macbook Pro and can’t wait to get my hands on my new Ipad 2.

  • Lombertop

I just bought and Ipad2 mainly for the iMovie app and am having a hard time importing movies from my Mini-Toshiba camera(Camileo)…I have converted the files to MOV, MP4, MPEG4 and M4V before syncing to the Imovie through ITunes…so far have been unsuccessful…can you please help…I am ready to give it back to Best Buy!
    Thanks,
