Yesterday Apple announced the long-awaited (for some) iPad mini with its 7.9 inch screen,  29.6 inch surface area and miniscule weight (.68 pounds). But there’s more to this device than raw numbers.

Thankfully Apple has provided a video breakdown of its tiny new iPad mini featuring the production Apple is known for  - white backgrounds, engineering details, Jony Ive soothing you into purchasing whatever it is Apple’s selling – and gives you a pretty up close look at the new tablet.

While the engineering features aren’t nearly as slick as those from the iPhone 5, but it’s probably safe to believe Ive and hardware SVP Dan Riccio when they say it was hard as hell to build the iPad mini.
