Most storybook apps for kids involve a ton of interaction, animation, and sounds that are supposed to keep them engaged and interested. However, this sometimes defeats the whole purpose of reading. So it’s nice to see one of these apps that takes the approach that books are books, regardless of the form, paper or digital. “Curly Hair, Straight Hair” isn’t going to win any awards for innovation, but it’s a nice little story that my two kids enjoyed.
