I’ve had the pleasure of reviewing many iPad and iPhone accessories that fit in the field of music. From the iRig, to the Guitar Sidekick, and now the iKlip. Each serves a tremendous purpose in providing ways to utilize the ever expanding number of apps for guitar players and musicians.
The iKlip by IK Multimedia ($39.99) is an iPad accessory that is for any musician who has an iPad. It can be used for singers reading lyrics, traditional music reading in an orchestra, guitar tab reading, and more. The possibilities are endless for what musicians might use it for.

Many people think the iPad is useless. Many think it’s “magical”. Some think it’s great for consumption, while others think it can be used for creation. People think it’s fine to use your fingers for writing, while others wish for a stylus. It’s these differences that allow for the device to succeed, and for third party designers to swoop in and create products that others find useful when used with the device.
One such product is the stylus, as I mentioned.
I’ve tried a few different styles and the newest one, the Just Mobile AluPen ($24.95) is by far my favorite.

There are lots of iPad stands and holders out there. Most of them are doing a good job holding your iPad in normal situations, but are no real help when using the iPad lounging on a sofa or lying in bed.
I know what I’m talking about, because my couch is where I’m using my iPad most of the time. I like to surf, read my news feeds or play games while relaxing on the sofa. But it can be pretty exhausting holding the iPad in place without getting muscle cramps after a while. (more…)
