Review : A-Frame Stand for the iPad

The “A-Frame” ($49.99) is a new iPad stand from Griffin Technology that just about hits the nail on the head. While perhaps not the most obvious stand choice, if you take a chance on it, quickly it will become apparent that the design team really thought things through. This stand is made of very sturdy and heavy aluminum, and due to the “A” shape, it supports the iPad amazingly well without any worry of tipping over. I played games while the iPad was in the stand and not once did I concern myself with the tipping factor…as it was nonexistent. (more…)

Review : The Walet Mount for iPad

Two of the best features of the iPad, in my opinion, is the ability to consume media on the device and use the iPad as a  helpful kitchen companion. The Walet (pronounced “wall-ay”) Mount for iPad allows me to do both in an environmentally friendly and aesthetically appealing way.

The Walet Mount is more than just a standard iPad accessory, it is a gorgeous addition to any room that compliments the beauty of the iPad. Created by Jonathan Danforth, the Walet Mount is made from high quality sustainable Plyboo – brand bamboo plywood, an expensive, albeit environmentally friendly material. Moreover, the Walet Mount team, based out of Raleigh, North Carolina, strives to use recycled or recyclable materials wherever possible. (more…)

Case Review: “The Case, Vol. 1″ Pad and Quill iPad Case

I recently wrote a review about my favorite iPad case, the Marware Eco-Vue. Up until about a week ago, I carried my iPad everywhere in my Marware Eco-Vue case. That is until I had an opportunity to try out “The Case, Vol. 1″ a terrific iPad case by a small family company out of Minneapolis called Pad and Quill.

Pad and Quill states on their website that their mission is to “deliver the most beautiful hand made bookbindery cases for touch enabled devices at a fair price” and that is exactly what they have done with their first iPad case. (more…)

Review : Fabrix Magic Sleeve for iPad

Protection for the iPad.  Some employ no protection (insert pun), some employ Apple’s branded version, some employ a protective shell, some employ a sleeve, and some choose a combination of several  methods (yours truly).

Perhaps it’s my OCD in action, but I have a hard shell on the back of my iPad, in addition to using one of the most simple, yet elegant sleeves, that can be had for the iPad.  The Fabrix Magic Sleeve for Apple iPad ($32.90). (more…)

Review : RedEye Remote

Sometimes technology really amazes me and I find myself asking “what next?”. What can they possibly come up with now? What part of my life hasn’t been changed recently? What more do I need or want?  For me, the answer to that was, a TV remote built to use with the iPhone or iPad. You already take your iPhone with you or have it in your pocket. You already have your iPad sitting on the table or a stand nearby. Why not use it to control your TV and other electronic devices? That’s where RedEye comes in. ThinkFlood, makers of the RedEye, thought the same thing and have created an WiFi-to-Infrared Bridge that interacts with an app that can be loaded on the iPhone or iPad. The way it works is pretty simple really. Plug in the RedEye IR Bridge, download the app from the App Store, configure the app to your home and devices, and use your iPhone or iPad to control them. Review : BookArc iPad Stand

When it comes to electronic devices, iPod, iPhone, iPad, iMac, etc, Apple does a dynamite job, however when it comes to accessories at times their products leave something to be desired. Such is the case with the iPad stand/dock. Sure, it docks the iPad, charges it, and is small but sturdy. However in some crazy way of thinking the designers of the dock failed to think that just maybe, perhaps, people would be purchasing a COVER for their iPad…even more importantly the APPLE case. Case Review: The Fantabulous iPad Case

If you are on the lookout for an elegant yet inexpensive iPad case you might have found it now. Hong Kong based start-up company Fantabulous has released a very stylish iPad sleeve to protect your new gear from scratches and grazes.

Designed by Denny Winter, the case impresses with its elegant design and solid workmanship. The fantabulous iPad Case (what a name!) is made out of 3mm thick felt which feels absolutely nice to the touch. The muted grey of the sleeve is contrasted with a colorful elastic band which holds the flap when closed. (more…)
