iTunes turns 12 years old today. For many it’s hard to remember a time without it, and for others we can’t believe it’s been that long already.
Launching iTunes became just as important to the rebirth of Apple as the iPod itself. It gave music fans a simple and easy way to find and buy music. Over the years iTunes has changed drastically, as it has incorporated more content, and has had to sync with more devices (iPod, iPhone, iPad), but it wasn’t until it’s latest release in November 2012, that it received it’s biggest visual overhaul. Apple today announced that over 40 billion apps have been downloaded from the iTunes App Store, nearly 20 billion in 2012 alone, an impressive milestone for the company. (more…)
