Google+ app gets iPhone update and comes to iPad, finally

Google announced earlier this week that through an update to its Google+ iOS app, new features are now available on the iPhone and finally, the iPad.
Google+ version 3.0 adds new features to the iPhone app and is the first version that is made for the iPad with its own unique interface features.
On both iOS devices, you’ll now be able to create and manage Google Events. You can create an event, manage comments, add photos, and see who is coming to the event. All the info from past events is saved as well, so you can go back and revisit them later.
Google Hangouts are now supported on both iOS devices as well, which means you’ll be able to start and participate in Hangouts from wherever you are. Video chat supports up to nine friends and — once set up in the settings — will notify you when friends join or ring their phone to remind them to join.
“The Google Plus app for Ipad was designed with the device in mind. Your stream styles content based on popularity, type and orientation,” Google VP of Product Bradley Horowitz said in a blog post.
Horowitz said that Google has added “unique ways to interact with the app” such as the ability to pinch and expand posts in the stream to add comments, use two fingers to drag a post from the stream to reshare it and start a “hangout” from the iPad and stream it to a TV using AirPlay.
But the best part of the Google+ update is hangouts.
According to Google: “Turn on ringing notifications so your friends know to join the hangout,” “To get started, tap ‘hangout’ from the main menu, add some friends and tap ‘start’. We’ll ring their phones (if you want), and if someone misses the hangout, they can ring you back with a single tap.”
The new Google+ app is available in the App Store and if you don’t already, follow us on Google+!
