iPad App News: Toontastic Version 1.8 is Here

For a while now I’ve recommended the iPad app Toontastic for kids. It’s a great app that lets kids create cartoons. They can create backgrounds and characters, or use the built-in ones that come with it. They add music and narration while animating the various scenes, and then the app pieces together these scenes to create a story and cartoon. It’s done easily and effortlessly by my kids and has been a ton of fun for us all.
The developers of Toontastic have been adding “packs” to the app for a while now, each pack adds more backgrounds and characters to the app for kids to use within the scenes. I’m not a huge fan of in-app purchases, but this is one of the few apps that I get behind it…as my kids have spent more time using Toontastic than any other app on the iPad.
With the release of version 1.8 they’ve added even more characters, and have upgraded the online sharing of your videos (if you as the parent choose to allow it) with instant streaming as well as the ability to embed your videos to share via websites and Facebook.
As a bonus, users have the option to buy an “All Access Pass” to the play-sets. For $9.99, users get every play-set of characters that exists, now…but also in the future. This is a HUGE deal, and one I’d highly suggest for anyone who has this app or gets it.
If you’re looking for a fun and engaging app for your kids, you really can not go wrong with Toontastic. It’s one of the highest quality kids apps on the App Store, the developers take great pride in it, and it shows!
