iPhone 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S III vs Nokia Lumia 920

In case you haven’t heard (or read some of the posts on this site in weeks), Apple held an event today where the new iPhone – the iPhone 5 – was unveiled. The company announcement many things; a new iPod Nano, new iPod Touch, iTunes enhancements, and more, but the reason everyone showed up was to get a first look at the iPhone 5.  It did not disappoint.

The new iPhone 5 is thinner and faster than ever, sports a new form factor that uses a gorgeous panoramic screen with more resolutions and less consumption. It surfs the web much faster, thanks to its new LTE capabilities. And it has a new smaller dock connector called Lightning.

While its specs are premium, the iPhone isn’t the only worthwhile smartphone on the block. For those considering the iPhone 5, below is how it compares, spec to spec, to the top Android and Windows phones: the Samsung Galaxy S III, and Nokia Lumia 920.

What do you think of the iPhone 5? Purchasing one?

The new iPhone seems to be a good evolution over the 4S. Spec wise It is now at par with the Galaxy. As I don’t use 4G, I am not sure if it is worth changing my 4S though. Maybe for the extended battery life. Although the iOS6 could probably enhance the 4S performance a little. More and more, the big differentiation between Apple and the others is the iOS, and you do not need a new iPhone for that. And the problem is… the Galaxy soon will be replaced with a new one. Apple lost the hardware battle, then again, this is nothing new. Apple has been always about the experience, not necessarily about best specs. But as Android gets better and better, they need come up with something really revolutionary to sustain its leadership in the long run. Until then… they’ll surf the wave of profits…
