Leaked iPad Mini photos show device with no rear camera

Supposed images of the iPad Mini have been leaked and reveal Apple may not include a rear camera a rear camera on the device.
Chinese microblogging site Sina Weibo published four images of what appears to be the iPad, supposedly set for a September 12 unveiling.
The device appears to have an aluminum backing like the larger iPad, but it appears to lack a camera, much like the first generation iPad.

Almost all of Apple’s mobile and handheld devices feature a rear camera and the option to exclude such a luxury could be part of Apple’s effort to remain competitive with Google’s Nexus 7 on price.
Two other options could be that this is a very early prototype or the rear camera has been photoshopped out, but tampering with leaked images seems bizarre.

Analysts DisplaySearch confided in CNET and claimed production of the iPad Mini screen could start this month.
“We expect panel production to start in August, with production ramping up to high volumes (more than a million units per month) in the fourth quarter,” said Paul Semenza, an analyst at NPD DisplaySearch.
What do you think of the leaked images? Would you want an iPad Mini without a rear camera?
