It’s Official: Apple to Unveil iPad 2 on March 2nd

The rumors that started yesterday about Apple holding an iPad 2 event on March 2nd are true. This morning Apple sent out invites to ”come see what 2011 will be the year of”.

The invitation (pictured) features a large 2 with the calendar page pulled back just enough to give a glimpse of what could be the next iPad. Some have noted that the page is not pulled back far enough to show the facetime camera which we are certain will be on iPad 2.

It is also interesting to note that Apple decided to hold an event to announce iPad 2 on the second day of March. Coincidence or clever marketing? We believe the latter. Now that we know when the second generation iPad will officially be revealed, we will wait patiently and hope Steve Jobs is able to make the announcement.

The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at 10:00 am. Apple has used this venue to introduce a number of products in recent years including the first generation iPad.

Amazing! You Apple geeks don’t even know the difference between memory and storage. You are talking about 16GB of STORAGE. As for memory, an iPad has 512MB, the same as an iPhone 4. Get a clue Apple geeks.

has anyone thought about maybe the fact that it isn’t the iPad? I mean the calendar logo has been on mostly all i-touch anything and the part you can see that is peeled away looks no different from an iPad to a iPod nano touch….

From what I have heard the Adroid OS doesn’t take to well to larger devices like a 10″ screen so they rather than play around with the OS they just went for smaller machines.
Except for Microsoft which has a tiny market share in these sort of devices except for iPad they all run on Android so they all have the small screen.

Its like Windows at its peak, the PCs were all going to be running Windows so it gave Microsoft alot of room to bully, get the PC manufacturers to make their machines to Microsoft specifications rather than Microsoft taking into account what the manufacturers wanted to make.

Android is the new Windows so if their product works best on a 7″ get the manufacturers of the tablets to make 7″ machines rather than forcing Google to make changed to their OS to the manufacturers had a choice.

It might be the only one on the market but I do think Apple have got it right with 10″ not to big to be bulky, its not to small so your screen space appears much smaller than it really is and I think 10″ is about right for movies and reading.

I believe Apple offer a 2 week return policy on their products provided its not damaged, scratched etc and you still have the packing you might look into getting a refund if you have had it less than 2 weeks. Tell them you want to exchange it even for the version 2 just get to the store as soon as you can and return it.
