Review : Crystal Clear Spigen SGP Ultra Thin Series Case

I review a good number of iPad cases, but in the end I typically like to keep my devices without a case. That’s just my preference. However, I do enjoy the Smart Cover that Apple sells, and I am always eager to check out “back cases” for the iPad that allow use of it. The Spigen SGP Ultra Thin Case Series is just such a case. I’ve taken a ride with the Crystal Clear version, here’s what I found.

It’s clear. Almost perfectly clear! I don’t like hiding the back of my devices, and the case does a great job of not really letting people know that I have such a case on the iPad. The only real signs are the small magnetic strip, and a small Spigen logo in the corner, and even the logo is almost clear and isn’t noticeable.

The case is extremely easy to install, and snaps right on the iPad, no issues at all. Fits like a glove. It’s amazingly light and doesn’t add much bulk to the back of the device at all, which is a key element to me, as the whole point is to keep the iPad as light as possible. It’s really very scratch resistant, and I haven’t had issues with dust or dirt getting in between the case and iPad yet, and with the very tight fitting I don’t think this will be an issue like it is with many such cases. All ports and controls are accessible, and the case really resists fingerprints and smudges very well…something I am just loving.

The case includes a small magnet strip on the back, as I mentioned earlier, and the purpose of it is to hold the Smart Cover open against the back of the device when you’re using it. Anyone who uses a Smart Cover knows that the first fold-flap has a tendency to “hang” when you’re holding the iPad and have Smart Cover folded around back…thankfully now this doesn’t happen, and it’s all thanks to a tiny little magnet strip. Very nice addition.

Overall the Crystal Clear Spigen SGP Ultra Thin Series Case ($32.99) for the new iPad is top notch. It’s light, it’s thin, it’s clear, and offers everything one would expect from a case like this, plus the benefit of the magnet strip and amazingly great anti-fingerprint material. I highly recommend it!

Check it out at the Cretouch store. If this isn’t the one for you, they offer a nice line of iPad and iPhone accessories, have a look.
