There comes a time in every iPhone or iPad owner’s life when accessing and/or editing Microsoft Office files is a necessity.

While there are many interesting options for doing so in the iTunes App Store – especially for iPad owners – few are as feature-rich as Polaris Office.

Polaris Office allows one to edit .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx and .txt files on your iDevice in numerous ways. And with intuitive controls, you can create a new document with a simple tap on the screen.

The app contains predefined templates like the desktop version of MS Office, provides search capabilities for any documents, undoing an action, aligning and formatting of text, images can be added from your photo gallery, camera, or hyperlinks and Polaris office even allows for the addition of tables into a document.

Once you’ve finished with a document it can easily be saved to your device, print it, or save it to a cloud service such as: Google Docs, Dropbox, Box.net, and more.

One of my favorite aspects of Polaris Office is the ability to view s document both in portrait and landscape mode, followed closely by a user-interface that is easy to use and make document editing nearly frictionless.

Overall, Polaris Office excels in many ways, separating itself from most of, if not all, the app’s competition in the App Store. The app’s price makes it one of the more expensive MS Office editors on the market, but if you’re looking for an excellent way to manage and edit MS Office documents on your iPhone or iPad, Polaris Office is an excellent choice.
