Review : iStunt 2 HD – Snowboard for iPad
iStunt 2 HD – Snowboard is the iPad version of the very similar popular online game from Miniclip, and is well worth a look if you love time killing games. I’ll admit, I’m not the biggest gamer by far. I don’t own multiple gaming consoles, and the one I do own (Nintendo Wii) is for the kids, and it rarely gets used. I tend to like games that don’t take tons of time to learn, don’t make me play for hours on end just to accomplish a small goal, and don’t make me have to “think”. For this reason I’m a huge fan of games like Angry Birds and Cut the Rope. This is exactly why I love iStunt 2 HD. It’s simple enough to just pick up and play, but difficult enough at times to keep me from becoming bored or “finishing” it within a day.
In the game, as you would expect, you’re hitting the slopes for some crazy fun snowboarding. Survive by completing unearthly stunts, escaping killer saws and jumps, and learning how to maneuver through unearthly anti-gravity areas. Spins, jumps, ducks, grabs, and so much more will keep you earning points and having a blast doing so.
The speed and graphics are amazingly great and they are optimized for the retina display and the iPad itself. The sounds and music make for a very engaged experience, and the controls are very responsive, taking advantage of the touch screen as well as the accelerometer. iStunt 2 HD – Snowboard is integrated with Game Center to compete with friends, and provides enough levels to keep one busy for a long time. I find I come back to levels I’ve already mastered, just to try and do better.
It’s not a game necessarily geared towards kids, but that doesn’t mean that children can’t play…my two, ages 5 & 7 love it. If you are looking for a fun time-waster, check this one out!
