Time Inc. brings 20 magazine titles to Apple’s Newsstand

Time

In a change of course, Time Inc. is now selling digital subscriptions to all 20 of its consumer magazine titles through Apple’s Newsstand.

The titles include TimeSports IllustratedFortunePeopleEntertainment Weekly and a slew of lifestyle titles.

“It’s an important step toward fulfilling our goal of being everywhere consumers want us to be,” said Time Inc. C.E.O. Laura Lang in a statement. “People love reading our digital magazines already on iPad and we are confident we can deliver an even greater consumer experience on Newsstand with digital subscriptions.”

The New York Times‘ Amy Chozick notes: “The move is a significant shift for Time Inc., the largest magazine publisher in the United States. Even as competitors like Condé Nast and Hearst quickly struck deals to sell subscriptions through Apple, Time Inc. approached the Apple newsstand with caution, chafing at some of the restrictions Apple wanted to impose.”

“What changed?,” asks Peter Kafka. It could be as simple as Time Inc. trying to boost sales, which haven’t been stellar recently. … Or perhaps parent company Time Warner got some other concession from Apple for one of its other units, like HBO or Turner.”

Which title(s) from Time Inc. are you most excited about and likely to purchase?

Great idea. This is something I’m yet to try!

Would you suggest me any free or paid tools to create these type of
info-graphics. Or do you know any service providers who make them?
    Thanks
