While most people usually turn to traditional resources such as whoopee cushions to play pranks on their spouses or coworkers, April Fools Day can be high-tech for iPhone owners.
And yes, you guessed it, it involves using apps. There are currently iPhone apps for everything from performing Voodoo rituals to detecting paranormal activity, so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that there are many apps designed specifically for pulling clever and fun pranks.
Here is a quick rundown of the best (and cheapest) ones:
Pranktionary
Do you want to pull a killer prank this year but can’t come up with any good ideas? Just download the Pranktionary on your iPhone. This prank dictionary is chocked full of great prank ideas and are categorized by prank location so it’s easy to sift through and find the prank you want. If you’re looking to pull a prank on your husband in the kitchen or your coworker in the office, just consult that category in Pranktinary to find many great ideas. This nifty little app will only cost you 99 cents to download.
Hand Buzzer
The hand buzzer app on iPhone is a technological twist on an 82-year-old classic. Simply download the app and your iPhone becomes a hand buzzer, allowing you to scare friends and family however you please. For just 99 cents, you can buy days and days worth of silly fun with this iPhone app!
Krazy Kamera
This app is as simple as it gets, but can give you some good laughs nonetheless. Ask the subject of your prank to take your photo using your iPhone. The Krazy Kamera app will twist and distort the phone so that it is impossible for them to take a straight photo. They will become more and more frustrated as you bust up laughing. Krazy Kamera also costs just 99 cents.
Fart Ocarina
Fart pranks through traditional means (think Whoopee Cushions) are old news, but the classic fart prank is made new again with the Fart Ocarina app. Somehow a fart noise is funnier (and more unsuspecting) when coming from a technological device. This funny app will set you back just 99 cents.
iPunked
This app is so stupid that it is hysterically funny. Ask your target if you can hypnotize them using your iPhone. As soon as they are getting very sleepy while looking at the squiggly lines on the screen, BAM! Scary photo pops up, causing them to jump. Just make sure you hold the phone for the prank instead of letting the target hold it, because they’re likely to throw or drop the phone as soon as the photo pops. Then, the joke would be on you! This app costs 99 cents.
