Turn your iPad into a hand-cranked music box

Wooden iPad Crank

ECAL designer Joelle Aeschlimann has created a truly neat way to control music on the iPad. unique way to interact with the iPad.

“Little Boxes” comes with three wooden devices of different sizes which turns the iPad into a hand-cranked music box.

When placing the crank on your device’s screen and turning the small lever, one can play music like an old-time music player.

The small cranks are constructed from wood and include rubber tips like those on styluses. The Adobe Air iOS software recognizes the rotating mechanical movements and is able to generate music and visual content on the screen.

Pretty neat to watch in action.
