WaterField Designs – Bags and Cases for iPad, iPhone, and Mac

There are many companies creating accessories for our iPhones and iPads. Because of this I get plenty of email asking for recommendations, and while I’ve reviewed a number of great ones, options are always nice! So I’ve set out to find companies that I’ve not yet had the pleasure of reviewing products from and in turn bring that information to you.
Today I want to introduce to you WaterField Designs at SFBags.com – a company creating bags, sleeves, and cases for the Mac, iPhone, iPad, and more.
All items available from WaterField are made in the USA and have a sense of quality to them. These are not cheep items that you’re going to toss after a week or two because they simply fall apart. They also have such a wide variety of cases that you’re sure to find something very worthwhile, very appealing, and priced within your budget.
I had the opportunity to use two of their products recently, the iPhone SmartCase, and the iPhone Wallet, and I was very impressed. One of my biggest gripes today is that I have to carry around too much stuff. For me that means, phone, wallet, and keys (it doesn’t sound like much but it still annoys me). Someday I hope to start my car with my phone, and we all know NFC payments are coming to the masses slowly but surely. Until then however I still need these 3 items, and I need a solution. These two cases are perfect examples of ways to solve my problem.
The iPhone SmartCase is great in that it’s first, very sturdy. The sides are thick and tough, but yet padded and soft. They are lined with a soft material so that I wasn’t concerned about scratching my screen, and my iPhone 4 even fit nicely while in a case that protects the back of the phone. It was snug at first, but after a few days of using it, it loosened up just enough to remove the phone very easily, but not so easily that it just fell out. The SmartCase also features a mesh stretchy fabric on one side, a pocket of sorts, that one can nicely slip an ID and debit card into, and a few bills if needed. Solving my issue…no more wallet. If I was bold enough I could even remove my car key from my keyring and stick it in there…as I only carry a single key as it is. Overall this case is extremely well made, and works great. There is even a few different models. One that is standard, one that has a flap for securing to a bag shoulder strap, and another that has a clip for a belt. Something for everyone. A quick look at the page for the SmartCase and one can see why people love it…and even better, you can read testimonials from them too. The SmartCase for the iPhone comes in 6 color choices and looks great.
The iPhone Wallet is the second item I was able to test from WaterField Designs, and while I don’t like it AS much as the SmartCase, it is a very nice item as well, and I can see how many could find it very useful. The idea of the iPhone Wallet is that one wants to take their phone and their wallet with them, together…but also wants to be able to use the phone at times while IN the wallet. That’s what this item gives you. Basically you get a leather zippered case/wallet that has two sections. One, for your iPhone, and another for your “wallet” stuff. There are slots for a few cards, and space for some cash if you’re still the type that carries it. The iPhone screen is viewable through the front window, and can actually be used through it as well. Although I have to say it’s not something I’d do constantly, but to me it’s more of a nice way to see who’s calling or texting me while the iPhone is in the case, not something for actually using the phone as one would while sitting on the couch. It’s more of a travel companion with some nice perks. The iPhone Wallet comes in black and brown leather, and would make a nice addition to anyone tired of carrying both a phone and wallet separately…and better yet the phone isn’t tied down to the wallet for when you’re NOT going anywhere…and it works with some cases/bumpers. Very nice.
WaterField Designs, as I said makes items for many different products, these are just two that they offer, but it at least gave me an idea of what kind of quality and service they had to offer you and any other potential customers….and that answer is “very high”. If you’re in the market for a new iPhone or iPad case, a bag, or many other such items, be sure to give them a look at sfbags.com
